Chris: Great Week, Tough Long Run
Posted on Jul 06, 2009 under Uncategorized |This week I had the time and drive to get all of the workouts in. Each workout felt great and I was really looking forward to the long run. The problem is I underestimated the impact the big week had on my body and I ate fairly poorly the night before. That combination led to the most forgettable run so far. Hydration seemed to be a problem throughout the entire run even though I was drinking regularly and mentally it just wasn’t there.
The good news is I kept track of everything and I will use that information to tweak the workouts and food this week.
I’m back to where I left off when I peaked before. This week is the 13-miler and last time I did 13 it felt great. This week I’m going to take Friday off for rest instead of running like I did last week. I’m hoping this tweak paired with a careful diet will give me another great run on Sunday.
